Child safety education often starts with simple lessons like "stranger danger" and general caution. However, Kristy’s experience goes far beyond these basics.
Growing up during the early days of social media, when sharing photos on Facebook was new, Kristy’s understanding of child safety has been shaped by a lifetime of unique and impactful experiences.
At Keep Safe with Kristy, she brings this wealth of knowledge to help parents and caregivers empower their children with essential safety skills.
For over 12 years, Kristy has served the public in Western Australia, including in the remote East Kimberley region, specialising in investigating child sexual abuse.
In her role as a Specialist Investigative Interviewer, she worked closely with children to gather crucial evidence for legal proceedings. Her work involved visiting isolated communities to educate children about body safety.
This demanding role provided Kristy with deep insights into the complexities of child safety and the emotional toll such work can take.
Kristy has worked in a variety of roles, serving the community and also within the education space.
Having experience working at a boarding school, where she has had the honour of guiding and supporting remarkable girls from Regional WA and international backgrounds, has allowed Kristy to continue her commitment to child safety while expanding her impact in an educational setting.
Kristy has completed a Protective Behaviours practitioner course in Western Australia, enhancing her ability to teach children about their bodies and personal safety. Alongside her role as an educator, she is also a future children’s book author, aiming to create additional resources to support child safety education. Her approachable nature and dedication to making a difference drive her efforts to empower communities and families.
This website serves as Kristy’s platform to share her expertise and help others empower their children with essential knowledge about body safety. Through this resource, Kristy aims to make a meaningful impact, guiding parents and caregivers in protecting their children and fostering a safer environment for all. Connect with Kristy to learn more about empowering your children with essential safety knowledge and resources.
